Comments about comments

You can really help with your comments.

How you can help

Your comments are a powerful tool to help me to develop and perfect these articles.

I do like getting comments.

  • These are encouraging and informative.
  • However, a majority of the comments that I receive are completely unacceptable. They are almost always spam-like comments.

Let’s have a look at types of acceptable and unacceptable comments.

General Information

Critical comments are more than welcome. However, these comments must give examples from the blog.

  • For example, “This is crap, man!” will be deleted. But “This is crap, man, because you say A…B… This is wrong because of reason C…reason D…” will definitely be published.

I get the feeling that many people comment to advertise their own web site.

  • For example, when I go to their site I get immediate sales promotion.
  • In addition, I do not want to advertise web sites that promote unacceptable behaviours.

Acceptable CGot an idea?omments

 Comments about writing style.

  • I am not a writer. I don’t have an editor or proof reader.
  • I would really appreciate professional or amateurs to help me with my writing style.
  • I want the writing to be easily read and understood by all people.

Comments about facts.

  • I am not a scientist.
  • Please inform of any factual statements that are false.
  • Please inform me of any extra information that would be useful as evidence of any true statements.

Comments about argument.

  • I am not a philosopher.
  • Please inform me of any false or unreasonable arguments.
  • You are also welcome to reinforce any reasonable logic or argument.

Comments about presentation.

  • I am not a computer enthusiast.
  • Please inform me on improving the site.
  • Note, your comments must be in very basic form with limited jargon ( I am hopeless with computers). If using jargon, could you  please explain it.
  • I know that jargon is useful when putting across a point in its briefest form. However, for a guy like me it will be way over the top.

Comments to encourage.

  • I know people want to encourage others.
  • I do apologize to people who really want to encourage me with brief comments.
  • All you need to do is to comment and then add a quote from the article in question.
    • This shows that you have at least read the article in question.
    • Try to choose the sentence that appeals to you most.

Unacceptable Comments

Comments like “I love this blog!” or ” I have bookmarked this blog.” will not be accepted.

  •  These appear as self-promoting comments.  They show the writer has not read one word of the article on which they comment. Whenever I check out the blog they are selling something.

Unacceptable comments and web sites will not be published.

  • Please inform me if  I publish unacceptable comments or promote unacceptable web sites.
